Electrifying the Experience: SparkCharge Powers the US Open with Mobile EV Charging
Every year, the US Open captivates the world with world-class athleticism, iconic moments, and a commitment to excellence that extends beyond the court. This year, SparkCharge brought that same spirit of performance and innovation to the tournament by powering transportation with our mobile and off-grid EV charging solutions.
Throughout the event, SparkCharge delivered thousands of kWh of clean energy and charged hundreds of electric vehicles (EVs)—helping players, VIPs, staff, and event partners move seamlessly and sustainably. By turning the US Open into a live demonstration of what’s possible with mobile and battery-powered EV charging, SparkCharge showcased how flexible, scalable EV infrastructure can redefine how energy is delivered at high-profile events.
Why SparkCharge at the US Open?
Hosting an event on the global stage requires more than just logistics; it requires reliability, speed, and sustainability. The US Open needed a partner who could provide flexible turnkey EV charging infrastructure without the headaches of grid upgrades or construction.
That’s where SparkCharge comes in.
- Instant Deployment: We arrived tournament-ready, with charging stations operational instantly.
- Scalable Solutions: The number of fleet vehicles changing throughout the event, and SparkCharge is able to scale the amount of energy up and down when needed to keep operations running smoothly.
- Sustainability in Action: By delivering almost 10,000 kWh of clean energy, SparkCharge helped replace thousands of miles of gasoline driving with electricity, aligning the US Open with its broader sustainability goals.
Powering Every Corner of the Tournament
At an event like the US Open, time is everything. SparkCharge’s solutions delivered reliable charging across multiple touchpoints of the tournament:
- Players and VIP Transportation: Ensuring seamless travel for athletes, sponsors, and special guests with quick-turnaround charging.
- Event Staff and Logistics: Supporting the EV fleets that kept the tournament running behind the scenes.
- Sustainability Showcase: Demonstrating to fans, partners, and media that clean energy infrastructure is ready to perform at the world’s biggest stages.
The Technology Behind the Service

Mobile Battery Charging (180 kW DCFC)
Our mobile battery trailers provide 300-500 kWh of energy on-site with no power requirements. We offer a variety of service options from white-glove service, self-service, or a hybrid approach to ensure you have the level of support you need. For the US Open, the SparkCharge staff was on-site for hybrid approach. The SparkCharge team remotely managed the Mobile Battery Trailer's state of charge (SOC) and swapped or recharged the unit once the trailer was low. This ensured the US Open team could focus on their operations while the SparkCharge team ensured energy was available and ready when needed.
More Than Charging: A Vision for the Future
The US Open was more than an event, it was a stage for what’s next. By showing that premium sporting events can be powered sustainably and reliably, SparkCharge proved once again that our Charging-as-a-Service model is not only a solution for fleets, but also a game-changer for events, logistics, and high-profile venues across North America.
This partnership highlighted our core brand pillars:
- Rapid Deployment: No construction, no delays, charging when and where it’s needed.
- Always-On Reliability: Monitored, managed, and delivered without downtime.
- Scalable Infrastructure: Built to grow with demand, no matter the scale.
- Future-Proof Energy: Mobile, flexible, and aligned with global sustainability goals.
The US Open has always been a symbol of excellence and innovation. This year, SparkCharge was proud to bring that same spirit to transportation and energy by delivering thousands of kWh of energy and charging hundreds of EVs with our cutting-edge mobile and off-grid solutions.
As the world moves toward electrification, SparkCharge is showing what’s possible when speed, flexibility, and sustainability come together. From powering fleets to charging on the biggest stages in sports, we’re building the future of energy, one event, one vehicle, one kilowatt at a time.
