What is Charging-as-a-Service (CaaS)?
▾
Charging-as-a-Service (CaaS) is a zero-capex EV charging model where SparkCharge deploys, owns, and operates the charging infrastructure on your site. Instead of purchasing and maintaining equipment yourself, you pay only for the equipment & energy delivered, while SparkCharge handles installation, operation, and maintenance.
02
How much does Charging-as-a-Service cost?
▾
There's no upfront cost with CaaS. You pay per kWh delivered and for the equipment, similar to a utility bill, with no upfront equipment purchase, no maintenance costs, and no long-term ownership risk. Pricing is based on your site's charging volume and configured during setup.
03
How fast can Charging-as-a-Service be deployed?
▾
Most SparkCharge CaaS deployments go live in days, not the months or years a permanent charging installation and grid upgrade can take. Because SparkCharge owns and deploys the equipment, there's no construction or delay standing between you and a working charging hub.
04
Who maintains the charging equipment under CaaS?
▾
SparkCharge owns, operates, and maintains all charging equipment for the life of the agreement. That includes monitoring, servicing, and replacing equipment as needed, so your team never has to manage charging infrastructure directly.
05
What's the difference between Charging-as-a-Service and buying charging equipment outright?
▾
Buying equipment means you cover the upfront cost, ongoing maintenance, and the risk of the technology becoming outdated. With CaaS, SparkCharge absorbs that capital cost and risk, and you pay only for the energy you use, making it a lower-commitment way to add charging capacity.
